Hi!
I'm Lacey McRae Williams

As a Certified Cultivating Safe Spaces facilitator with 13+ years of leadership experience at all levels - from middle management to executive and governance - I have seen what happens when teams work well together and, more commonly, have witnessed when unhealthy conflict and toxicity become the standard operating model.

I have led teams through a pandemic, and stepped into interim roles to support rapid, unexpected departures from COO's and Executive Directors. I have chaired community planning committees, been the VP of a non-profit arts council, and taught community design courses at the post-secondary level.

I have burnt out, taken a career and mental health break, been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, reacted poorly, grown, reflected and shown up again and again to do the work. I have been called a lot of names - some lovely and some terrible. I've been judged, dismissed, welcomed and loved.

Core values I carry throughout my work and personal life are accountability, clear and proactive communication, showing up, following up, checking in, inclusion, and creativity. As a non-Indigenous person working in predominantly First Nations areas, a repeated message that I share with decision-makers, community leaders, matriarchs and interview panels, is that, eventually, my work will speak for itself.
